DAY 3 THE HOT 127 LONGEST YARD SALE

Fruit of the Loom wants to be in your drawers!!! OK. We are looking for American Companies - Fruit of the Loom may not be 100% made in America but all Corporate offices are - headquarters is in Jamestown, KY and we went right by it! Hail to the fruit and the loom! Amen.

Today was hotter than Hell MI. The vans thermometer read 98 degrees and humidity was at least 110. We were able to sustain life for 30 - 40 minutes at a time outside. Then we retreated to the air conditioned van.

Much better sales down this way. First stop was Amish (oh and another damn deer ran in front of the van in the A.M. - what was it doing out at that time) Oh well it went on its' way and thankfully so did we. At the Amish sale in Dunnville KY we bought some thing but do not remember what (it was so hot). But we did see Amish horses, chickens, puppies, people, etc. We also saw ice cream being made. We could have bought a fried bologna sandwich but, alas, it was too HOT to eat. Then on to Jamestown KY and Fruit of the Loom as well as Jimmy's Antiques on a very large hill. There a Weller vase was purchased and a few other things, but we don't remember because it was too HOT. HA HA.

Saw the renovation of the Wolf Creek Damn underway - what a beautiful area. Arrived in Albany KY after we went through it and did not know we were there. It was HOT. Decided to ditch Campblesville and take a room in Albany (once we knew we were there) It was HOT. We did make good, quality, old purchases in Albany - books, glass, pottery - what else is there? It was HOT. Oh and some jewelry. The van is half full (empty for you pessimist's) with items of quality, of course. The trail end for us in Albany as we return home tomorrow. But we did see at least 30 miles of sales, which for this expedition is good. So much to see and not enough time. Oh, and did I mention it was HOT!!!

FINDS FOR THE DAY: set of 3 Little Indians books 1935, a very old stoneware salt glaze vase with copper and leaves for a quarter and is real cool and needs a bath. Weiss green stone brooch, Japanese Art Nouveau bronze pot for a dollar. We have other things but it is too HOT to remember. We will figure it out in rainy, hot, and humid Michigan. See you all tomorrow.

HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.....
