Day 1 MANY MANY Sales!!!

Well day 1 on this 127 trail was much more productive than the Spring trail. We managed to get , oh , maybe 5 miles MAX before we had to stop. So many yard sales and so many beautiful things to look at. Vick and I each bought a few things and met met many real nice folks - all doing the same thing we were. Had a BBQ burger at one sale that had tables and chairs set up in the shade with a nice couple and the family dog Sophie. This was the first year for them and they were having a ball.

Going through Cincinnati we saw an American company, St. Bernard Soap Co. They are the largest soap manufacturer in the country and produce many items in addition to soap i.e. hand and body lotions, sun protection, shaving creams and much more. Buy American. We are trying to see at least one American manufacturer a day - so far so good!!

We saw our first Dollar General store - it just would not be right if we had not seen one of those. Scenery here in Kentucky is beautiful. So green and many horse and Angus beef cattle farms. To all the little ones out there MOOOOOOOOO

When we left 75s just into Kentucky we had to stop at the state liquor store, Cork and Bottle. We bought cheese and crackers and BQ sauce and a bottle of rum. Yo Ho Ho. Took a picture of a great old wood cabin right across the street - probably where they made moonshine and sold it!!

Tomorrow we will head further South to do it all again - maybe we can get going a little earlier - HINT.

FINDS OF THE DAY: Mettlach tile, Hamilton Tile Co Portrait tiles (BLUE and beautiful), 1940's Rookwood - unusual pattern, strange Moorcraft like vase, 1904 Worlds Fair plate, interesting pocket knives and a few other jewelry items.

OK. Need to relax now so we will blog again tomorrow. Good Night!!
